Professor Jim Waldman oversaw research with Pelican Narrows residents after the 2017 wildfire season.


"The biggest issue that we saw in our research, and that continues to vex evacuations, is the splintering of families in which certain individuals are identified as being particularly at risk and are moved out of the communities in sequence according to that level of risk."
